| How do I book? Choose the type of yacht you prefer, along with your dates and contact us, or ask our Agent to check availability, then hold an option (which you may usually hold for seven days) or make your booking. Having booked, our Charter Party Agreement (CPA) will be sent to you. This should be signed and returned with your down payment. No booking will be confirmed until the CPA has been signed and the down payment made. We recommend that for charters during peak season, inquiries for bookings should be addressed several months in advance. Back to Top
|
| How and when should I pay? 50% of the charter fee is payable at the time of booking through Bankers Swift remitance.
The balance is payable 30 days before embarkation.
For bookings within 60 days of departure full payments should be arranged with the CPA.

| What qualifications do I need to charter a bareboat sailing/motor yacht? Bareboat yacht charter in Greece legally requires two crew members capable of commanding the vessel.
The skipper should have an appropriate recognized sailing certificate.
If not issued by an EU member state, certification should carry a translation in Greek or English.
An official declaration stating the skippers competence may be also required if the harbour authority considers this necessary.
The co skipper should provide similar certification to the skipper but, may otherwise complete sign a self-declaration for the port authority.
Both skipper and co-skipper may also be required to submit a sailing resume to enable us to assess their ability to sail safely. by our staff.
For bareboat motor yachts, both qualified crew members (skipper and co-skipper) must present a license for motor yachts.
In this case self-declaration forms are not acceptable.
Avra Yachting reserves the right to insist that charterers hire a skipper, despite their certification, if their sailing skills are not judged sufficient

| What about skippered charters? If you need a skipper, Avrayachtings can recommend a professional skipper for as many days as you wish.
Even if you have experience in sailing, you may still require the services of a skipper to make your cruise more relaxing and benefit from the skippers' local knowledge.
There is a daily fee of 150 EURO per day for the skipper regardless of the number of people on board.
Please remember that the skipper needs to be provided with his own cabin, as he is obliged to sleep on board.

| What types of security deposits are available? You may choose to pay either a Refundable Security Deposit or the Damage / Loss Waiver.
1. The Refundable Security Deposit is held against the yachts insurance excess.
If there is no damage or loss to the yacht or to its equipment, we will refund the Security Deposit immediately at the end of the charter.
However, if there is any damage and/or loss, the deposit or an appropriate proportion will be returned, if applicable, as soon as possible after full assessment of the cost of rectifying such damage or loss has been made.
The Refundable Security Deposit covers:
a. Loss of or damage to the vessel, its tender and third parties.
b. Loss of or damage to the equipment listed in the inventory and given to the charterer at check-in.
c. Costs incurred if the vessel is returned in an unacceptably dirty condition.
d. Cost of returning the boat to the pre-arranged harbour, if the charterer fails to do so by the scheduled date and time.
e. Cost of refuelling if the boat is returned without refilled tanks.
2. The Damage Loss Waiver.
This is a fixed amount depending on the type and size of boat and the duration of the charter and is not refunded in any circumstances.
With payment of the Damage Loss Waiver, the charterer is relieved of all liability for loss or damage to the yacht, with the following exceptions:
a. Loss or damage caused by gross negligence by the charterer and/or his party.
b.Loss or damage caused to the boat or its equipment by the charterer or any member of his/her party while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
c.Cost of returning the boat to the pre-arranged harbour, if the charterer fails to do so by the scheduled date and time.
d. Cost of refuelling if the boat is returned without refilled tanks.
An additional refundable deposit of 400 Euro is payable when selecting the Damage Loss Waiver. This additional refundable deposit covers the:
a.cost of returning the boat to the pre-arranged harbour if the charterer fails to do so by the scheduled date and time.
b. cost of refuelling if the boat is returned without refilled tanks.
The payment of either the Refundable Security Deposit, or the Damage Loss Waiver, is designed to cover only one incident of a substantial nature at any one time.
In case of loss or damage to equipment of significant value such as outboard engine or dinghy, the charterer will have the right to an immediate replacement whilst on charter, provided that the charterer pays a new Refundable Security Deposit immediately upon receipt of the relevant replacement or in respect of the repair.
It is important to note that for both kinds of Security Deposits, the charterer will be held liable for the total amount of any loss or damage caused by gross negligence or wanton or wilful misuse by the charterer or by any of his party which is in excess of the Security Deposit amount..
Gross negligence may include, but is not limited to:
a.Sailing at night without all navigation lights functioning or without sufficient watch on deck.
b. Damage resulting from non-observance of instructions given during the technical briefing.
c. Damage resulting from failure to take protective measures (in accordance with good seamanship) against adverse weather conditions.
d.Failure to have a competent person on the helm or supervising the helmsman while the boat is under way.
e. Failure to take reasonable seamanlike precautions to avoid danger for both yacht and crew.
